Case Study: I now travel by bike whenever its possible

My normal commute is by car on my own, I live about 11 miles from work. If the weather is good I will cycle into work about once a week, however the hills near where I live and the distance makes it difficult to undertake every day, even though I would like to.

I decided to take part in the electric bike trial so that I could try cycling more to work, get fitter and not rely so much on my car and the associated pollution. Having never used an electric bike before, this was a great opportunity to see if it provided a real alternative to using my car.

I have really enjoyed using the electric bike it is much better than what I thought it would be. I love the fact that it really does take away the strain of riding up hills. I am finding I cycle most days to work and also using it to travel into town, which is so much quicker and easier than driving in and parking.

I have been pleasantly surprised by how much money I have saved both in terms of fuel and parking, it probably adds up to about £30 a week.  With all these benefits I would

would really love to purchase an electric bike, my only hesitate would be the maintenance of an electric bike and if that is expensive. I am not sure how much they need maintaining.
